This letter is an example of a Donation Letter and includes all of the elements of a perfect Donation Letter for you to use. This sample Donation Letter can be used as a template for your needs.
First of all, I want to thank you for your member support over the years in helping us save animals from cruelty. Thousands of dogs will go abused, malnourished, and many die each day in puppy mills across the country. We continue to strive toward stronger animal protection laws, working closely with law enforcement and local communities to bring an end to the madness.
Every year around this time, we host our annual appeal. We humbly ask that our donors dig deep and give what extra they can in tax-deductible donations to help keep our organization and our efforts funded.
In 2010, we saw the opening of two no-kill dog shelters, one in Colorado Springs, CO and one in Portland, OR. The volunteer teams there are excited, energized, and inspired by the outpouring of support from members like you. They believe, as we do, that we have a duty to protect dogs and other domesticated and farm animals from the harsh and cruel treatment of inhumane conditions.
We are asking caring donors like you to support our efforts with a special one-time tax-deductible donation of $20, $50, $100 or more to AnimalLovers. Any donation over $100 will be awarded with an AnimalLovers t-shirt – Our way of saying “Thanks” for your generous contribution. We’ve included a pledge sheet along with a pre-stamped, addressed envelope for your convenience.
Feel free to visit our website @ www.animallovers.org for up-to-date news and information, as well as snapshots from our shelter opening success!
Also be sure to spread the good word about the work that we do to your friends and family, by passing along our quarterly magazine. Our work is far from over, but the plight of innocent animals is made ever more hopeful through the generous support and good-hearted nature of donors like you.
Thank you for your time and continued support.
